RootsTech Just Around the Corner- With Some Sessions Being Streamed On-Line!

Registration is open for RootsTech 2015, the world’s largest family history conference with tens of thousands of participants worldwide.

Sponsored by FamilySearch, RootsTech 2015 will be February 11–14 at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The global conference will feature an innovator summit, expo hall, well-known keynote speakers, more than 200 classes, hands-on computer labs, nightly entertainment, and a free family history day for Church members.


Wednesday, February 11: Innovator Summit

Formerly developer day, this technology event is for programmers and technologists to share and collaborate on industry products and projects.


Thursday–Saturday, February 12–14: RootsTech 2015
The opening event is Thursday at 6:00 p.m. with Alex Boyé and One Voice Children’s Choir. Choose from more than 200 classes (see class list); visit the expo hall with hundreds of technology and family history exhibitors (including a demo theater, cyber cafe, discovery zone, and media hub); and try hands-on tutorials in the computer labs. Friday night watch performers showcasing various world cultures.

Saturday, February 14: Free Family Discovery Day for Church Members
Families and members of the Church are invited to attend a free day at RootsTech geared toward all ages and experience levels (ages 8 years and up). Registration is required. Family Discovery Day includes:

• Inspirational messages from General Authorities and other well-known LDS speakers, such as keynote speaker Donny Osmond. Learn more.
• Informative classes to help you learn how to find and prepare family names for temple work and preserve and share family stories.
• Interactive activities and access to the RootsTech expo hall of exhibitors.
• Entertainment featuring the cast of Studio C from BYUtv and other popular entertainers.

Not able to attend in person?
Similar to past years, several sessions of the conference will be streamed live onRootsTech.org. After the conference, recordings of these sessions will be posted on the website for a limited time (generally until the next RootsTech conference).

RootsTech streaming sessions are also available at family history fairs hosted throughout the world. A list of fair locations will be available soon.
